Contentious Probate Solicitor

A well-established law firm in Cumbria is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Locum for a 12-month assignment. The role offers flexible hybrid working, combining office presence with the option to work remotely.

Alongside your caseload, you will also mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support on technical matters where required.

The firm is looking for someone confident working autonomously with minimal supervision, able to progress files efficiently from instruction through to settlement, mediation, or trial preparation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or experienced non-qualified Fee Earner
• Essential: Proven experience managing your own contentious probate caseload
• Strong working knowledge of inheritance disputes and estate litigation
• Experience handling matters through negotiation, mediation, and litigation
• Ability to mentor and support junior staff within the team
• Ability to work independently and manage files proactively

Assignment length: Approximately 12 months

Location: Cumbria (hybrid working available)
