Cyclical Maintenance Lead Required
Contract Length: 6–12 months initially
Location: East of England (Hybrid working arrangement – 3 days per week on site)
Rate of Pay: Negotiable Hourly (Inside IR35)
Venn Group are working in partnership with a local authority in the East of England, who are seeking an experienced Cyclical Maintenance Lead to join their Green Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in planned and proactive maintenance of green infrastructure, including grass, verges, hedges, trees, and Rights of Way.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting site inspections across the county highways network, including remote locations
- Investigating reported faults on the green highway network from the public and elected members
- Updating asset management systems with data collected onsite
- Leading change in managing and maintaining highway green infrastructure to support nature recovery and climate response
- Implementing innovative and sustainable practices for green space maintenance
- Applying horticultural expertise to enhance biodiversity and visual appeal of highways
- Collaborating with community groups, partner organisations, and council members
- Handling customer correspondence and building stakeholder relationships
- Using grounds maintenance, highways, and horticultural best practices daily
- Working both independently and as part of a team, outdoors in all weather conditions
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience developing multiple planned maintenance regimes for ongoing cyclical works
- Familiarity with asset management systems (Aurora preferred) to schedule and manage maintenance regimes
- Strong horticultural knowledge aligned with biodiversity and countryside regulations
- Understanding of highways operations to balance safety and environmental requirements
