Deputy Headteacher – Virtual School
We are currently working with a South West organisation who are looking for a Deputy Head Teacher to ensure effective systems are in place to support the educational achievement of Looked After Children.
Duration: Until 31st July 2024 (Temp - Perm Opportunity)
Rate: £325 per day (Inside IR35)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working Arrangement - Onsite every Wednesday and when required
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with relevant colleagues to ensure the availability of robust data which can be accessed and shared effectively to track the educational progress of Children in Care across the whole age range
- To challenge attitudes and practice where they are not conducive to raising the attainments of looked after children
- To contribute to wider Council Strategic Planning regarding the education of Children in Care
- To ensure that the overall quality of PEPs is regularly monitored
- Be proactive in disseminating best practice for school staff, carers and social workers and challenge them to have high aspirations of them during their school career and in progression to further and higher education
- 6Work with 14-19 partnerships and FE providers to ensure that the needs of Children in Care are being met through the new collaborative arrangements
Requirements:
Knowledge & Experience of:
- Successful leadership in an Education based setting/role (Middle leader, Assistant Headship)
- Relevant education and children’s services legislation
- The educational needs of vulnerable groups
- Supporting vulnerable children in all educational settings
- Senior management and leadership experience in schools, or equivalent
- The strategic use of data in target setting and action planning
- Analysis of problems and identification of solutions within a range of contexts
- Analysing a range of data and use it as a tool for identifying areas for improvement
- A degree in a relevant subject area
- Evidence of recent and continued professional development
