Disability Support Advisor

Hours: Mon-Fri, 37 Hours per week
Salary: £14 per hour inclusive of holiday Pay
Venn Group’s specialised Education team are excited to be recruiting for a Disability Support Advisor based in the West Midlands. This role will be offering £14.00 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
Outline duties below
- As a Disability Support Advisor you will supporting the Disability and Inclusion Advisors by providing advice to prospective and current students with disabilities and/or additional support needs
- Providing high quality student-centred disability related advice, guidance and support to prospective and current students to ensure access to appropriate and integrated support
- Ensuring that planning with students incorporates a range of reasonable adjustments communicated to Faculties to support students to access their University studies.
- Providing advice about support funding including Disabled Students’ Allowances.
- Ensuring that accurate and timely information about individual students are shared with Faculties/Schools and that this information is managed, processed, stored and shared according to data protection policies and procedures and with student agreement.
- Supporting the development of individualised specialist support packages and monitor a caseload of students with high levels of more complex needs e.g. personal care packages.
- Under guidance from the Disability and Inclusion Advisors, liaising with external agencies and organisations with a focus on connecting support services for students.
- Ensuring the sharing of relevant information and data is in line with the University Data Sharing policies and procedures and with student consent.
- Supporting the promotion of the University as an inclusive environment for all students including attending internal and external events as required.
- Maintaining accurate, up to date and robust student records.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out with a commitment to inclusion, equality and anti-discriminatory practices – with reference and regard to the University’s policies and values
