Temporary Enabling Support Officer
(Housing Needs)

Our client, a local authority based in Devon urgently requires an Enabling Support Officer to join their Housing Needs team on a temporary contract.
Location: Devon
Contract duration: 3 months
Hours: 37.5 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm) Hybrid Working Available
Rate: £13.00 - £14.00

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Negotiate, deliver and make available a range of housing solutions for customers and housing providers
- Assess client’s individual needs and work with the housing teams to ensure the properties selected are appropriate and meet the needs of clients at risk of homelessness
- Work with Homes England and make relevant information submissions and financial claims
- Work with surveyors and contractors to carry out relevant surveys on properties to ensure the suitability of homes
- Research and identify housing solutions for clients to assist with the overall reduction of rough sleeping
- Attend regular partnership ad multi agency meetings as required
Essential criteria include:
- Experience of delivering high quality customer service
- Experience of carrying out property inspections and negotiating with agencies and landlords
- Knowledge/understanding of housing regulations and working with those at risk of homelessness
