Energy Manager opportunity available
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £38,205 to £44,263 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Responsible for the design, development, evaluation and implementation of energy and carbon efficiency plans ensuring value for money and mitigation of risk
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise, to deliver and develop a customer focused service that supports the strategic direction of the Estates and Facilities strategy
- Ensure energy, environment and sustainability policies and targets are delivered
- Lead the delivery and continuous development of the energy policy across the estate including ambitious energy and carbon reduction targets in line with the Carbon Management Plan
- Review and monitor processes, procedures and associated documentation related to energy efficiency
- Prepare businesses cases to implement identified schemes to reduce energy and water consumption
- Create and carry out internal energy and water management audits
- Manage metering/sub metering and water metering plans as a basis for accurate reporting of energy use and to support legislative responsibilities (e.g. CRC, DECs)
- Manage energy contracts and tariffs to drive continuous improvement, reduce costs and enhance performance
- Responsible for supporting energy and water bill validation, validating billed consumption against actual meter readings
- Produce energy, cost, and carbon related reports for internal stakeholders to track performance against targets and comply with reporting requirements
- Act as the main point of contact for all energy matters, providing advice and expertise
- Co-ordinate and contribute to meetings, visits, conferences, committees where required
- Support the Estates & Facilities team in delivering wider energy, water and carbon initiatives as required and input into capital works and development programme
Essential requirements:
- You will hold a HND or university degree in a relevant subject (or demonstrable equivalent experience)
- You will ideally be a Member of CIBSE, IE or other relevant professional body
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, including electrical power distribution equipment, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency is essential for this role
