About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across our site. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operations of the premises, including maintenance, health & safety compliance, and event setup.
You’ll work closely with the Facilities Manager and contribute to a wide range of tasks that keep the site running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Duties
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Support fire safety checks and emergency procedures.
- Carry out minor repairs and report defects.
- Prepare areas for school functions and activities.
- Monitor site safety during adverse weather conditions.
- Support external contractors and ensure service standards are met.
- Help maintain security systems, stock control, and site cleanliness.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- GCSE-level qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Desirable:
- Experience in facilities management, ideally in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- First Aid, Manual Handling, and Working at Height certifications.
- Full UK driving license.
