We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their public sector partnership for regeneration programmes. They’re seeking an Interim Finance Manager to play a key role in delivering financial excellence during this transformative journey.
Role: Finance Manager
Location: South West
Set-up: Hybrid – ideally 2 days per week on-site
Rate: £237 per day via umbrella, inside IR35
Duration: currently signed off until the end of June 2026
Hours: Full-time position
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the preparation of financial reports, including management accounts, cashflows, and variance analysis across corporate and project areas
- Develop financial models and multi-year budgets, and support the assessment of financial implications for major infrastructure and development projects
- Interrogate forecasts and cost plans provided by third parties, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate outturn predictions
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and LLP-specific tax requirements (e.g. VAT, CIS, Stamp Duty)
- Improve and embed financial systems, processes, and controls, working across teams and with stakeholders to drive accountability and transparency
Skills & Experience Required:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- End-to-end finance process expertise, including reporting, controls, and year-end procedures
- Proficiency in accounting systems, with preference for experience using Xero
- Strong project accounting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach
