Organisation: Large Local Authority (East Coast)
Role: Interim Food Safety Officer
Contract Length: 3 months initially, with potential extension
Rate of Pay: Negotiable
Working Pattern: 3 days onsite (inspections), 2 days home-based (report writing)
Location: Working across a large East Coast local authority area, with offices based in multiple locations

Job Description:

• To undertake food safety interventions in accordance with the Food Standards Agency Food Law Code of Practice and Food Law Practice Guidance

• Backlog of routine food hygiene inspections

• FSA return due in April

• Requirement for an experienced Food Safety Officer

• Majority of premises are D-rated (relatively low risk)

• Large local authority covering a wide geographical area

• Role focused on carrying out inspections and writing up reports

• Reports completed using a standard template

• Administrative team responsible for uploading reports onto the database
