Grant/Funding Project Manager

Venn Group are currently recruiting for a Grant/Funding Project Manager on behalf of a well-respected City Council in the South West.
The authority has been directed by Government to implement a Charging Clear Air Zone (CCAZ) in the City on order to quickly drive changes in motorist behaviour that will lead to reductions in NO2 levels in the city in the shortest time possible.
This project is responsible for the Clean Air Fund (CAF) which includes a financial assistance scheme (vehicle upgrade), bus retrofit fund, freight consolidation centre and a sustainable travel team.
Location: South West
Duration: 6 - 10 months (scope for extension)
Rate: £430/day
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the delivery of the Clean Air Fund and allocation of grants for the financial assistance scheme, retrofitting scheme, freight consolidation scheme and sustainable travel team
- Working at pace and hitting the ground running to manage the financial assistance scheme and overseeing the CAF
- Financial assurance and auditing skills to validate grant and funding applications
Required experience:
- Financial assurance experience involving assessing, analysing processes and procedures within a local authority setting
- Auditing experience involving closely monitoring of financial reports, loans and grants within a local authority setting
- Experience of budget management and reporting
- Ability to handle complex queries with reputational risks
- Flexibility and willingness to take on other aspects of Clean Air Zone programme as required
