Head of Adults Social Services
Based in London
Length: 3 months initially
A local authority in London is recruiting for a Head of Adults Social Services who will be responsible for a range of ongoing integrated care requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on, or work collaboratively with other AOD’s, to support the council and trust’s vision in developing the very best system of health and social care services
- Creative partnerships with patients, carers, staff and stakeholders relating to the group of services
- Build effective partnerships with CCGs, Local Authorities, Acute Care Trusts and Voluntary Sector Providers
- Manage all business functions across health and social care services, including control of all activity, programmes, budgets and core staff in all areas
- Work in partnership with patients/ service users and carers working towards the highest standards
- Establish effective means of service co-ordination to ensure care and support is delivered in the least restrictive and as person centred manner as possible
- Liaise with governors, elected Members, Heads of Service, Executive Officers and other staff in and across stakeholder boundaries
Skills and experience required:
- Management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills especially when handling conflict and change
- Extensive experience, expertise and understanding of performance and change management, business planning, budget setting and commissioning processes, within a public sector setting
- Proven record of establishing constructive interagency partnerships
- Experienced in working in a range of local authorities’ roles within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent communication skills
