Health and Safety Advisor
A position has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading healthcare organisation located in the Poole area for 3-6 months.
Your daily duties will include:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to all staff and support key trust committees and groups including the Board of Directors in relation to Health & Safety in relation to staff, patients and visitors across the trust
- To act as the organisations ‘Competent Person’ for health and safety, liaising with the enforcement authority for health and safety- the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), Executive Directors and Directors to ensure the organisation remains compliant with health and safety legislation
- Support actions and activities of the Health and Safety Committee.
- Be responsible for all matters regarding essential core skills health and safety training, Risk Assessment training and support the delivery of Root Cause Analysis investigation training for personnel
- Promote a learning culture; work with staff to maintain a culture where staff are encouraged to report Health & Safety incidents to ensure continuous improvement.
- To act as a resource of evidence based knowledge to enable appropriate and timely incident investigation (all levels), identification, assessment, treatment and management for health and safety
- Manage reporting on Datix, including the follow up and reporting of significant actions and ensuring that staff involved in incidents are appropriately supported
- Support the review, follow up and management of staff incidents
- To coordinate the receipt, dissemination and action of all Central Alert System (CAS) Alerts and maintain a database of assurance evidence of effective implementation, monitoring and review
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Previous experience in Health and Safety within commercial buildings
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification such as NEBOSH in Occupational Health and Safety
