Job Title: Health, Safety and Fire Advisor

As a Health, Safety and Fire Advisor, you will be responsible for the providing competent specialist advice, guidance and support to managers and staff throughout the Community Trust regarding fire, health and safety and estates responsibilities
The successful candidate must have experience in working within the NHS
Project & duties will include:

Assist managers in the development of safe systems of work to ensure compliance with legislation and support the Head of Capital Projects and Estates in ensuring the safety and suitability of Community Trust premises

Advise the Trust on the interpretation of fire and health and safety legislation

Determine implications of fire and health and safety legislation and develop policies according to the needs of the organisation

Advise managers on policies and any local procedures or protocols required to ensure compliance

Act as a specialist resource for Heads of Service and Head of Estates in matters specifically relating to fire

Provide support to managers in their undertaking of fire risk assessments

Undertake the role of Fire Safety Advisor for the Trust, including developing policy, undertaking fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections, delivering fire safety training to all staff and liaising with the emergency services as necessary

Provide support and guidance to HR and managers in respect of fire risk assessments and fire management standards

Prepare fire reports as required by managers and groups and committees

Participate in accident and incident investigations which have Estates safety implications

Ensuring investigations undertaken by managers have determined root cause and remedial actions required
Essential Skills/Qualifications

NEBOSH Diploma
-
Experience in Auditing and Developing and Delivering Fire Management Systems

Worked within a large, diverse healthcare organisation
-
Computer literate, use of Microsoft smart suite applications
