Case Worker - Homelessness
An established complex needs charity is looking for a Homeless Case Worker to join their team in Bedfordshire. This is a full time position working 37 hours a week on a fixed-term contract

Length:Fixed-Term until March 2022 (dependent on funding)
Hours: 37 per week including weekends, evenings and bank holidays
Main Responsibilities:

Managing your own caseload of homeless clients with complex needs or drug and alcohol issues

Support individuals in temporary accommodation to access longer term accommodation solutions, including private renting, supported accommodation, social housing

Signpost clients to external agencies, support services and liaise with the local council

Work with clients to improve their quality of life by obtaining income through employment and education opportunities

Assisting with tenancy sustainment, rent accounts, housing advice and accessing appropriate welfare benefit entitlements

Carrying out initial assessments for rough sleepers who have joined the service via the outreach team and identifying their level of needs

Support clients to move on from the service and encourage their independence in permanent accommodation
Essential requirements:

Experience supporting vulnerable clients such as the homeless or those with drug and alcohol misuse issues

A full valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle is preferred but not essential

An Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one
