X2 Housing Support Officers Immediately Required
Duration: 3-4 Months with the potential of extension
Location: Bridgnorth and Oswestry
Hours: Full-time (Bridgnorth 8-4 or 9-5 Mon-Fri) Part-time (Oswestry 22.5 hrs Tues, Wed, Thurs)
Pay Rate: £13.25 Umbrella
Full time and part time opportunities have arisen for Housing Support Officers. The said individual will be responsible for giving comprehensive housing support to older people whilst also covering Generic Floating support within Shropshire. Due to the nature of the role we shall only be accepting applicants from those who obtain an Enhanced DBS and hold a full licence with access to a vehicle.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both internal and external partners in order achieve specified outcomes
- Offer targeted housing related support to eligible customers in order to promote their independence
- Help people feel safe and secure within their environment, reduce debt dependency and to actively support customers into purposeful activities
- Assess customers for support eligibility and agree support tasks and outcomes to be achieved
- Assess the risks for each service user and yourself, and ensure that this is reviewed and updated regularly
- Regularly review the progress of support, and report on outcomes achieved
- Assess the need for additional out of hours support via a community alarm and arrange for installation where necessary
- Prompt and encourage customers to establish and maintain settled lifestyles
- Provide re-enablement/life-skills work both face to face and in group workshops
- Support customers with money management including debt counselling, claiming benefits accessing money advice
- Support customers to comply with the conditions of their tenancy
- Support customers to engage with the communities they live in
- Liaise effectively and appropriately with other statutory and voluntary agencies
- Provide general counselling and support as assessed to be needed to promote independence and social inclusion
- Provide advice, encouragement and support in regard to education, training and work opportunities
The successful candidate will have:
- An Enhanced DBS
- Previous experience working in this position
- Full Licence with access to a vehicle
