A well-respected charity based in Central London are currently looking to recruit a Income Officer to start with them on a temporary contract as soon as possible.

Hours:                  37.5 hours per week

Shifts:                  9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Duration:            Three to six months ongoing  

Location:             Central London

Rate of Pay:       £23 – 25per hour

Main duties of the role:

• Working for a Charity that specialises in helping people who are victims of homelessness supporting existing and former tenants in dealing with rent arrears
• Set up accurate and effective systems for the collection of rent
• Minimize the level of rent arrears and maximize clients income providing residents with expert knowledge on budgeting
• Ensure systems are in place for communicating liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
• Make sure the computer system is updated with details of individual rent arrears actions and advise on the improvement of such systems
• Advise tenants on their welfare benefits, offering advice and encourage debt counselling, complete claim forms on behalf of tenants and verify claims on behalf of the Local Authority
• Where required pursue legal action, including applying for and attending court hearings

Essential requirements:

• Experience or an interest in working with vulnerable people
• Having worked in a Income Recovery role previously
• Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
