We’re working with a London-based local authority to appoint an Interim Director of Adult Social Care to lead a critical improvement and transformation programme. This senior leadership role will oversee service delivery, budget recovery, and strategic change across Adult Social Care, ensuring compliance and driving forward a major improvement journey.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Lead Adult Social Care services and manage senior leadership team

· Deliver budget recovery and oversee large-scale transformation projects

· Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and high-quality, person-centred services

· Drive innovation and integrated working across health and care systems

· Oversee structural reviews, workforce planning, and service redesign

· Promote co-production, inclusion, and anti-racist leadership principles

· Manage financial performance and identify efficiencies without compromising quality

Experience and knowledge required:

· Extensive experience across Adult Social Care

· Proven track record in budget management and delivering large-scale transformation

· Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills

· Ability to influence senior stakeholders and move at pace in a complex environment

· Social work credentials and safeguarding expertise are essential
