Our client, a well-established local authority, is currently seeking an experienced Head of Place to lead, plan, develop and deliver a range of expert professional services within Housing Operations. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge surrounding housing operations including homeownership, estate management, service charges and major works consultation and billing and able to lead an effective multidiscipline team.

Rate: £600 - £700 per day
IR35 Status: Inside
Duration: 3 months
Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a team offering high quality housing services to council tenants ensuring that customer satisfaction and service levels are maintained and targets exceeded

Direct and indirect line management duties of around 20 staff including senior managers, team leaders and officers

Implement strategic actions to improve the service to ensure that the housing operations are appropriate for all customers and implement changes if required

Overall management responsibility for a budget of £20million including staff budgets and major works project budgets

Act as the expert advisor on issues surrounding homeownership including major works queries, homeownership and estate management when liaising with internal and external stakeholders

Deal with any complex cases which have been escalated appropriately and ensure that enquiries are dealt with swiftly and sensitively
Desired experience:

Extensive and evident experience working in a senior capacity within local authority housing operations leading an effective housing operations team

Effectively applied and observed housing legislation including major works, service charge notices as well as health and safety

Evident knowledge in leading an team managing a housing service covering 10 000 or more tenants
