Interim Public Health Strategist
Location: London (Remote)
Length: 3 months initially with likelihood of extension
IR35 Status: Inside
We are currently supporting one of our local authority clients to recruit an interim Public Health Strategist with excellent relationship building and communications skills to work across key programmes within the public health team.
Key responsibilities of the Public Health Strategist will include:
- Liaising with schools on the Healthy Schools London programme and helping them understand the requirements, and encouraging them to set ambitions to achieve the next level e.g. silver, gold
- Engaging with young people for the Young Health Champions programme and encouraging them to become ambassadors
- Providing regular updates across these areas for the Health & Wellbeing strategy
- Attending a range of networking meetings to ensure joined up working in the above work areas across the system and linking into other priorities where possible
- Collaborating with the PH Strategist leading on childhood obesity and healthy weight, including service design and co-production with families (events, helping to mobilise nutrition and cooking programmes in the community)
Experience and skills required from Public Health Strategist:
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Public Health, previously operating at Strategist level
- Strong, demonstrable relationship building and partnership working skills
- Local government or similar sector experience
- Public Health Masters or equivalent
