IT Service Desk Engineer – Immediately Required
Duration: 3 – month contract (with opportunity to go permanent)
Location: Onsite, Birmingham
Hours: 37.5 per week c. 9am – 5pm
Pay Rate: £14.28p/h PAYE (Inclusive of holiday pay)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Service Desk Engineer to assist the IT services of a reputable organisation in Birmingham
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing an active and responsive service desk support across the ROH, by communicating with all the necessary support staff in the resolution of problems. Including: all aspects of IT incident logging, as well as E-Mail and Active Directory administration.
- Delivering site-wide support at both 1st and 2nd line
- Manage, prioritise and support IT Service Desk Calls and delegate where appropriate
- Managing and auditing mobile devices using MDM software
- Troubleshooting and managing printing issues
- Repairing Thin Client and Desktop PC’s Faults
- Recording new IT equipment into the Asset Database
- Patching CAT5 cabling from Pc to Switch Cabinets for data and voice
- Removal of PC based virus
- Provide ad-hoc training to users and other IT staff
The successful candidate will have:
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA qualifications and ITIL foundation
- Understandings of System’s Backups and processes
- Working Knowledge of Active Directory, OU, GPO
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop
- Knowledge of Antivirus and security-based systems E.G. MS Bitlocker, MS ATP
- Working knowledge of VDI and MDM
- Ability to be professional and to communicate clearly and to be a team player
