Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer on behalf of a Local Authority in the East of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and well-regarded team, providing vital additional capacity following the departure of a previous team member.
The role offers a broad and varied workload within Contracts and Procurement, with flexibility around working patterns.
The RolePosition: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3 months+ (with strong likelihood of extension)
Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: 3–4 days per week
Working Arrangement: Fully remote, with occasional office attendance desirable but not essential
Start Date: January start agreeable

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse Commercial Contracts and Procurement caseload
- Handling general commercial matters, including some construction-related work
- Providing high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across the authority
- Ensuring effective and timely progression of all matters within the team
- Supporting the wider Legal Services function during a period of increased workload
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in Local Authority Contracts and Procurement work
- Confident managing a range of commercial matters independently
- Knowledgeable in general contracts, procurement processes, and light construction matters
- Adaptable, reliable, and able to integrate quickly into an established team
