Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Full Time – Initial 3+ Month Contract - Remote Working- Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella)
Venn Group’s specialist Legal Team are recruiting for an experienced Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to support a well‑regarded public sector body on an initial 3‑month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial specialist with strong construction and procurement expertise to join a dynamic, forward‑thinking team.
Role Details
- Duration: Initial 3+ months with extensions agreed thereafter
- Working Pattern: Full Time, remote working after the first day
- Rate: Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella)
- Start: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a range of Construction and Consultancy appointments, particularly dealing with NEC4 and JCT Contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contractual documents including Professional Appointments, Collateral Warranties, Framework Agreements, Call-off agreements, and construction-related procurement documentation
- Advise project managers, procurement teams and senior stakeholders on compliance with the Procurement Act 2024, Public Contract Regulations 2015, and Local Contract Procedure Rules
- Manage and protect intellectual property rights, ensuring correct allocation and ownership within construction and consultancy outputs.
- Provide strategic commercial and contractual support on large-scale regeneration and Growth Deal projects and Highways and capital programme initiatives
- Advise on Contract Variations, Termination provisions, and Dispute Resolution processes.
- Provide specialist advice to internal departments, external stakeholders and Senior Members and Officers
