Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer - South West - ASAP Start - Full Time - Remote Working - £55-£60 Umbrella
Our client, a South West Local Authority, is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join their team on a fully remote working basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is a full time position for an initial duration of 3-6 months with likely extensions on a rolling basis expected thereafter. The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with public sector experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to a variety of clients in-house across all directorates
- Whilst specialising in an area of law, be able to work flexibly across the range of practice areas within the Commercial and Governance team including: Company Law, Contracts and Commercial (including legal practice within specialist areas such as IT, Construction, Energy), Corporate Governance, Employment, Public Procurement, and Public and local government law
- To keep legal knowledge up to date, to carry out legal research and maintain a thorough knowledge of existing and new legislation in relation to practice area
- To provide support and assistance to legal officers in the Commercial and Governance Team and provide cover as required and to assist and co-operate with officers within the wider Legal Services Division
An hourly rate of £55-£60 via umbrella is offered for this role.
