Locum Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer – Remote Working – Between £45- £50 per hour Umbrella – East Midlands
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Prosecutions Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands.
This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months subject to likely extension thereafter. The role will be worked on a mostly remote basis for the foreseeable future however occasional meetings and Court attendance will be required. The client will consider candidates that want to work on a full or part time basis as long as they hold experience of working in Prosecutions.
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister who is able to handle a full caseload of regulatory matters with extensive professional experience gained within Local Government.
Duties may include:

Managing a caseload of matters and reviewing work to ensure work is completed to a high standard

Dealing with trading Standards Matters

Providing training and guidance to the client departments and the rest of the legal team in completing their tasks and supporting junior staff members in their development

Criminal and civil litigation proceedings including drafting and advocating Trading Standards, Environmental Health Prosecutions, Housing Enforcement and Local Government Licensing matters
An attractive hourly rate of up to £50 Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
