Locum Property Lawyer

Locum Property Lawyer – Part Time – Up to £58 per hour umbrella – East Midlands – Hybrid Working – Initial 3 months+

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Property Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands on an initial 3-month assignment, with the possibility of extension. This role an excellent opportunity for an experienced property lawyer to support a small and friendly Local Authority legal team.

The Role:
Position: Locum Property Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3 months with potential extension
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week
Working Arrangement: Ideally hybrid working with 1-2 days in the office per week, remote working may also be considered

Duties will include:
• Acting on commercial and residential property matters including leases, sub-leases, occupiers, extensions, terminations, new grants, licences, overage agreements, disposals, and development documentation
• Providing clear, practical advice to support legal and operational teams
• Assisting with drafting, negotiating, and reviewing property-related documentation

Ideal Candidate:
• Proven experience in commercial and residential property law, ideally within a Local Authority or public sector setting
• Knowledge of Local Government property law, including new build developments
• Ability to work independently and remotely while managing a varied caseload
• Strong drafting, negotiating, and advisory skills
