Locum Prosecutions Lawyer – 3 months + – Full Time – Remote Working – Court Attendance – Up to £60 per hour – East of England
Position: Locum Prosecutions Lawyer
Organisation: Local Authority based in the East of England
Duration: 3 monthswith strong possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time ideally but part time candidates can be considered
Working Arrangement: Remote working other than court attendance required up to once a week
Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Skill level: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights
The ideal candidate will have at experience in handling Prosecutions matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
Duties may include:
- Manage a caseload and provide legal advice on a wide range of Prosecution matters including Environmental crime, Education offences such as Irregular Attendance and Trading standards matters
- Have conduct over case preparation and case management of allocated cases and liaise with the relevant Clients from various departments within the Local Authority
- Prepare briefs for Counsel, liaise with them on matters due for Court, attend Court on behalf of Local Authority when needed
- Reviewing work to ensure work is completed to a high standard
