Locum Prosecutions Solicitor – South Wales – Hybrid working – up to £60 umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Prosecutions Locum to join a South Wales local authority for an initial term of 3 months working on a full time, 5 days per week basis.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with previous Local Authority experience handling Criminal Litigation and Prosecution matters.
An hourly rate of up to £60 per hour umbrella is offered for this position depending on experience. This role requires frequent court attendance and so the successful candidate must be willing attend in person multiple times per week.
Duties may include:
- Managing a full and varied caseload of criminal and civil litigation proceedings for areas such as:
- Criminal Regulatory prosecutions, prosecuting illegal money lending, illegal dog breeding, trading standards breaches, waste prosecution and more alongside general Licensing, Enforcement and Anti-Social behaviour matters
- Reviewing work to ensure everything is completed to a high standard
- Advocating in court on behalf of the local authority
- Writing and preparing court documentation
