Locum Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer – East of England – Full Time – 3 months – Remote Working – up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a reputable Public Sector Organisation in the East of England with bases in multiple regional offices, who are recruiting for a Locum Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their department.
Ideally, the client would prefer this assignment to be worked on a full-time basis however candidates possessing part-time availability with relevant experience may also be considered.
This role is offered for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension and will be worked on a fully remote basis for the foreseeable future, however office presence may be required at a later date.
This opportunity is suitable for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with professional experience gained within Local Government.
This position will require you to lead a team of lawyers, so previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
Duties may include:

Instructing on aspects of community care under both the Care Act 2014 and National Assistance Act 1948, including ordinary residence, direct payments and personal budgets, vulnerable adults, appointeeship/deputyship

Appearing in the Court of Protection for both health and welfare and property and financial affairs related matters

Defending Applications for Judicial Review in the Administrative Court

Handling matters concerning continuing Health Care funding, s117 Mental Health Act 1983, adult safeguarding and debt recovery of care fees

Defending Judicial review proceedings in relation to community care matters and disputing age assessments
An hourly rate of up to £60 per hour (umbrella) is offered for this position.
