An established organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in shaping financial policy, enhancing financial governance, and driving improvements across statutory reporting, tax compliance, and technical accounting.
This is a high‑profile role at the centre of financial control and assurance, ideal for someone who enjoys leading on complex financial matters, improving processes, and influencing senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the production of accurate, timely statutory accounts to the highest standards.
- Oversee tax compliance and ensure the organisation remains fully compliant and optimally positioned.
- Drive improvements to financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Maintain strong balance‑sheet integrity through rigorous reconciliations and asset management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure high‑quality financial data.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and government bodies.
- Provide expert advice on VAT, technical accounting, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and develop a small finance team, supporting capability and confidence.
- Interpret regulatory changes and advise on financial implications.
- Lead transformation projects that modernise and strengthen financial governance.
About You
- ACA/ACCA/ICAEW qualified with strong post‑qualification experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit.
- Deep technical expertise across IFRS, FReM, Charities SORP, and UK tax legislation.
- Proven experience leading complex audits and reporting cycles.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
