Media Relations Manager

Venn Group is currently recruiting for a Media Relations Manager for a public sector organisation based in Nottingham. This is a 12 month maternity cover contract offering a salary of £32,348 - £43,414.

The successful candidate will be working on a hybrid split of 2 days on site and 3 days working from home. This is a full time position Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours a week.

Duties will include:

• To develop and maintain the organisation’s national and international profile in online, broadcast, digital and print media
• To devise and deliver effective communications/PR plans which advance organisation’s strategic objectives and enhance its reputation – focusing on quality coverage
• Research, write and deliver  accurate and compelling press releases and collateral (images, statements, briefings, video etc.) to maximise media opportunities
• To handle reactive media queries relating to the faculty and to use the news agenda to seek out opportunities to showcase the faculty’s expertise and research
• To work with and develop good working relationships in order to establish a sounds understanding of their news potential
• Act as corporate spokesperson for the institution, agreeing responses to media requests with academic and administrative colleagues, and delivering these across print, electronic and broadcast media using a range of suitable formats
