Job Overview:

Our client is a large telecommunications company looking for a Network Design Principal to help develop and upgrade their existing network, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of complex IP, MPLS, and BGP networks within a service provider environment. This role requires a high level of expertise in Cisco and Juniper core networking technologies, with a focus on ensuring robust and scalable network designs that meet the needs of a high-demand telecommunications environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols and features, as well as hands-on experience with a variety of core networking platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and architecture of IP, MPLS, and BGP networks, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
Implement and optimize network solutions using Cisco CRS/ASR/7600 and Juniper MX/PTX platforms.
Develop and document network designs, configurations, and topologies, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of network solutions.
Oversee the implementation of Change Control Processes, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
Engage in knowledge transfer and training sessions with team members and other stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Cisco Certification: CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
Juniper Certification: JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert), JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCDS
Significant experience in IP, MPLS, and BGP network design within a service provider environment.
In-depth understanding of IP, BGP, MPLS, and related protocols and features.
Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper Core networking technologies, particularly with Cisco CRS/ASR/7600 and Juniper MX/PTX family platforms.
Solid understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Strong experience with Change Control Processes.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

Experience working within a mobile network operator environment.
Familiarity with session enablement and management technologies such as RADIUS, IP QoS, and DNS.
Experience in network build and support for IP, MPLS, and BGP networks in a service provider setting.
Flexibility to support out-of-hours network changes as needed.
Strong collaboration and solution leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
