Job Overview:
Our client is a large telecommunications company looking for a Network Design Principal to help develop and upgrade their existing network, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of complex IP, MPLS, and BGP networks within a service provider environment. This role requires a high level of expertise in Cisco and Juniper core networking technologies, with a focus on ensuring robust and scalable network designs that meet the needs of a high-demand telecommunications environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols and features, as well as hands-on experience with a variety of core networking platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and architecture of IP, MPLS, and BGP networks, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Implement and optimize network solutions using Cisco CRS/ASR/7600 and Juniper MX/PTX platforms.
- Develop and document network designs, configurations, and topologies, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of network solutions.
- Oversee the implementation of Change Control Processes, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
- Engage in knowledge transfer and training sessions with team members and other stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Cisco Certification: CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
- Juniper Certification: JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert), JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCDS
- Significant experience in IP, MPLS, and BGP network design within a service provider environment.
- In-depth understanding of IP, BGP, MPLS, and related protocols and features.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper Core networking technologies, particularly with Cisco CRS/ASR/7600 and Juniper MX/PTX family platforms.
- Solid understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Strong experience with Change Control Processes.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working within a mobile network operator environment.
- Familiarity with session enablement and management technologies such as RADIUS, IP QoS, and DNS.
- Experience in network build and support for IP, MPLS, and BGP networks in a service provider setting.
- Flexibility to support out-of-hours network changes as needed.
- Strong collaboration and solution leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
