Network Manager (Highways & Transportation)
Rate of Pay: £24.80 per hour (negotiable dependant on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: 6 months with possibility to extend further

The Network Management Service, within the Highways & Transport division take an active role in the implementation of the Local Transport Plan whilst also delivering the statutory responsibility for network management.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Traffic Manager in the operational delivery and strategic planning of an efficient and effective network management service
- To provide input into the Local Transport Plan and Network Management Strategy and ensure the Service delivers their role within the network management strategy
- Oversee the Assistant Network Manager to ensure Service protocols are established, measured, and are demonstrating both efficient and effective Service outcomes
- To establish and maintain an Operating (Network Management) Service Plan to define the: role and purpose of the Service; scope of the Service; objectives and ongoing evaluation of the Service
- Manage the Service Operating Model – ensure staff levels, roles and responsibilities and competencies will deliver an effective and effective Service. Undertake the necessary action, when required, to undertake recruitment, induction, training to maintain an effective Service operating model
The successful candidate will have:
- Full Understanding of New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA)
- Network Permitting understanding, use and implementation
- Managing a team of individuals to ensure the department is compliant with regard to permitting legislation
- Balancing management of 3rd party statutory undertakers (utility companies) and ensure they are working to standards expected
