Night Intensive Housing Officer

A Supported Living organisation in South Devon is looking for a Night Intensive Housing Officer to provide a professional out of hours’ customer service which ensures the security of the building and the safety of clients and visitors
Locations: South Devon
Duration: 3 months temporary to permanent
Hours: Full time on a shift rota basis (4 on 4 off) 10pm – 8am or 8pm – 8am
Rate: £13.80 via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide housing management, housing options and welfare benefit information and advice encouraging customers to focus on sustaining their accommodation and where appropriate to source move-on accommodation
- Proactively engage with customers in an appropriate manner talking and listening to provide appropriate responses including sign posting or information
- Maintain personal knowledge of individual cases regularly reviewing clients support plans, risk assessments and duty log. Accurately record any changes to customers’ behaviour or circumstances in a timely manner
- Maintain factual and accurate records of service activity and participate in handover meetings with detailed reports
- Respond to medical emergencies referring/sign posting clients to the appropriate external agencies as necessary
- Manage and resolve neighbour disputes and incidents of anti-social behaviour in a fair and assertive manner
- Complete room checks in a sensitive manner to evaluate condition of the room, identify repairs and maintenance issues or any breaches to the occupancy agreement
- Complete health and safety building checks including emergency lighting, kitchen safety, first aid box, fire alarm and other checks as necessary
- Complete regular building checks as instructed including visual inspections of equipment, furnishings, external doors, all access points and monitor CCTV
- Provide a proactive assertive arrears management service, reminding and prompting customers of payments due, advising on responsibilities, consequences of breaches, collecting payments and arranging payment plans
Essential job requirements:
- A current enhanced DBS
- Knowledge of the issues and legislation surrounding homelessness and housing options available for homeless people
