Night Security Support Officer Vacancy

A reputable housing charity is currently recruiting for a Night Security Support Officer in the Hertfordshire area. This would be a temporary to permanent contract and you’ll be required to work 40 hours per week.

Length:                       Temporary to permanent

Hours:                         Night shifts – 10pm- 8am (40 hours) on a rolling rota 4 nights on 2 nights off

Location:                    Welwyn Garden City, Herts

Pay:                             £12.00 per hour including holiday pay

The role involves:

• Providing a night concierge service to residents and visitors within a homeless hostel
• Controlling access to the building
• Monitoring CCTV systems to identify any possible incidents
• Undertaking frequent and regular patrols of the building and monitoring any anti-social behaviour
• Dealing with health and safety issues
• Acting as a fire warden in the event of a fire alarm being triggered
• Contacting the “on call” manager in the event of an emergency or serious incident
• Being compassionate and caring in the event a resident is feeling vulnerable
• Dealing with mental health crisis that may arise

Additional requirements:

• Experience in a similar position working night shifts
• An enhanced DBS ideally from within three years or willingness to obtain one
• Experience working with vulnerable clients
