Occupational Therapist
Duration: Temporary, 6 months
Location: Leicestershire
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours
Rate: £17-£23 via an umbrella company
Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist on behalf of a reputable NHS Trust based in Leicestershire. This is an interim contract for 6 months offering £17-£23 via an umbrella company. For this position, you will be working full-time hours (Monday to Friday).
Outline duties below:

Providing specialist assessment and treatment of patients who may have a complex and chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated

Assisting discharges from acute trusts back into their own homes or residential homes

Managing a defining caseload using evidence-based/client-centred principles to access, plan, implement and evaluate interventions

Working in an interdisciplinary team supporting patients who have recently had a mild to moderate stroke and who have been deemed safe and stable to leave hospital early and be supported by our service to receive their rehabilitation at home

Maintaining contemporaneous and accurate records as required by the Partnership Trust and in line with professional standards (i.e. HCPC)

Assessing patient's occupational therapy needs, plan, carry out and coordinate an individual treatment plan using sound clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice

Coordinating patient's treatment plans as part of goal setting process

Assessing and request a wide range of equipment needs making appropriate referrals or requests to a number of organisations within the region

Transporting and fit equipment as necessary to client's home / work / leisure area

Dealing sensitively with clients and carers / families coping with difficult diagnoses or with long term / degenerative conditions

Undertaking and advising on clinical risk assessments and home visits

To assess order and provide activities of daily living equipment for individual patients and to ensure safe use of equipment such as wheelchairs and manual handling devices

To refer to and advise services responsible for long-term issue and maintenance of equipment as appropriate
