Interim Organisational Development Lead
Based in North-West London, hybrid working – 2 days on site
Length: 6 months
IR35 status: Inside
We’re looking for an experienced Organisational Development Lead to drive key OD projects, programmes and initiatives that will help deliver the council’s modernisation programme.
You’ll work closely with directorates, change programme leads, and teams across the Council to deliver the OD agenda, supporting transformation, performance improvement and workforce capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the OD Strategy and Plan
- Lead on the creation and implementation of the Council’s Workforce Plan
- Design and deliver effective OD tools, processes and interventions that enhance organisational performance and culture
- Partner with directorates to improve performance through tailored OD solutions
- Act as the Council’s lead on organisation design, ensuring the structures and systems support effective service delivery
- Develop and maintain OD metrics and measures to track progress and impact
- Manage and deliver initiatives such as:
- Replacement of the Council’s performance appraisal
- An annual recognition scheme
- Staff and pulse surveys, including analysis and action planning
- Workforce planning frameworks and implementation
- Provide expert OD and L&D advice to senior leaders, managers and teams
Skills, experience and knowledge required:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale OD or workforce transformation programmes within a local authority
- Strong understanding of organisation design, performance frameworks and engagement strategies
- Ability to translate strategy into practical, measurable outcomes
- Excellent relationship-building, influencing and facilitation skills
