Permanent Planning Lawyer – Hybrid Working – Home Counties – £43,000 - £48,950 per Annum
Venn Group’s specialist legal team is currently recruiting for an experienced Planning Lawyer on behalf of a Public Sector Organisation based in the Home Counties. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of £43,000 - £48,950 per annum and flexible hybrid working, with a requirement of two days per week in the office.
Role Overview:
As a Planning Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of Planning-related legal matters. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal advice and services to client organisations in Planning, development and Highways matters and other corporate or constitution and administrative matters
- Providing high quality, innovative, well researched and comprehensive specialist legal advice to clients (including elected members and senior officers)
- Managing a complex caseload and delivering advice within the timescales required by the client
- Acting as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Councils’ Committees and Directorates as directed
- Attending Courts and Tribunals undertaking advocacy where required and to represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties
- Instructing and managing suppliers of external legal services such as Solicitors and Barristers in accordance with the requirements of each client
- Leading and improving the service to client organisations, in the area of Planning and Highways, to ensure the provision of an excellent standard of client care and value for money
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with significant experience in Planning Law.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Planning Law and Planning processes to deliver initiatives
- Previous experience within the Public Sector or Local Government is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
