Portfolio Strategist - Corporate Banking - VP
Venn Group are currently looking for a motivated and ambitious professional to join a dynamic team within a Global Bank as a strategic VP in the Strategy department, playing a pivotal role in steering the approval framework and ongoing processes. As a key contributor, you will provide valuable insights and manage the development of account plans, implementing creative solutions to global challenges within a collaborative environment. This is a initial contract position with 2 days required in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead elements of the Client Capital Stragety Panel (CCSP) process, collaborating with Front Office (FO) to prepare impactful account plans and deal memos.
- Pre-screen applications, offering feedback to FO for enhanced business cases, and ensure meticulous tracking of action points and minutes.
- Contribute to the improvement and implementation of the CCSP process and framework, driving efficiency and stakeholder value.
- Work closely with the Client Analytics team to produce regular client and portfolio reports, offering valuable insights and analytics.
- Lead the development of Return on Equity (ROE) methodologies, offering strategic input in setting departmental/product ROE targets.
- Interface globally with Portfolio Strategy teams, ensuring alignment in portfolio management tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across front and back offices, providing critical analysis on complex financial models and analytics.
- Play a key role in the development and optimization of the ROE methodology, including the creation of a suite of ROE reports.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, adept at liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the bank, and experienced in drafting procedures and presentation materials.
- Solid numerical and financial skills with advanced Excel proficiency, capable of interpreting financial information and designing financial models.
- In-depth understanding of Return on Equity (ROE) and its various components/drivers.
- Prior experience in a Commercial Banking environment, familiarity with accounting treatments for vanilla banking products (including derivatives).
- Knowledge of current and future regulations impacting Bank balance sheets, with a preference for candidates familiar with BASEL IV and IFRS reporting standards.
- Relevant technical degree-level education, preferably in accounting, finance, or mathematical disciplines.
