We’re partnering with a respected Hospice in East London to appoint a capable Procurement & Operations Lead. This role suits someone with solid procurement experience who’s comfortable taking ownership of day‑to‑day activity while guiding a small team.
You’ll be stepping into a busy, mission‑driven environment where flexibility is essential. Alongside core procurement responsibilities, you’ll support wider operational areas such as utilities (including energy suppliers), facilities coordination, and general organisational processes.
The office is not accessible by public transport, so applicants must be able to drive.
This is a 3 month contract (initially) starting ASAP, so applicants must be immediately available to start a new role.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting a small procurement/administration team
- Managing supplier relationships, contract administration, and procurement cycles
- Overseeing operational tasks that extend beyond traditional procurement (e.g., utilities, energy suppliers, facilities support)
- Ensuring accurate documentation, compliance, and smooth internal workflows
- Acting as a point of escalation for queries and operational issues
- Contributing to process improvements across procurement and operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement or operations, ideally within a complex or multi‑stakeholder environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence suppliers and internal teams
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
- Comfortable working hands‑on while providing guidance to junior colleagues
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to step outside a narrow remit
