A position has arisen for a Programme Manager for Children and Adult Social Care within the Cambridgeshire area. The PMO plays a fundamental role within the Policy, Design and Delivery service. Working collaboratively across the client and the wider system to effectively plan, implement and deliver outcomes for a broad range of transformation and strategic change projects and programmes.
Location: Cambridgeshire
Contract length: 12 months
Rate: £300 per day umbrella
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Your duties will include:
- Utilising appropriate programme management tools and frameworks to in order to effectively programme manage a range of projects, ensuring the co-ordination, sequencing and cross cutting issues are identified and managed well
- Ensuring dependencies are identified and an appropriate level of oversight of the programme risks, issues and progress is maintained
- Lead the development of high-quality programme and projects, including benefits realisation plans, and be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the delivery and impact of all elements of the programme
- Be responsible for providing challenge and holding others to account, seeking ways to remove barriers to delivery
- Provide regular reporting, including analysis and evaluation of progress and the current and future status on the programme and respective projects to the respective management and political functions
The successful candidate should possess:
- Knowledge and understanding of project and programme management systems and processes
- Ability to understand current issues and where practicable foresee future issues, political sensitivities, policies and developments and develop appropriate strategies
- Ability to use sound judgement, evidence and knowledge to provide expert and professional advice, evaluating options, impacts, risks and solutions
- Confidence in their communication and be experienced in dealing with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
- Ability to deliver presentations to a wide audience
- Experience of Programme Management of diverse and complex portfolios
