We are working with a Council based in South Wales who are recruiting for a Construction Project Manager to join the Economic Development Directorate.
This role is focused on managing the delivery of building maintenance works across the council’s non-domestic estate, from inception through to completion. You’ll be responsible for planning, risk management, tendering, contract supervision, stakeholder management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Duration: 12 months
Hours: Full-time position
Set-up: Must be available to work on-site

Key highlights of the role:
- To undertake effective contract management, site supervision and cost control including: checking/verification of contractor valuations; preparation of financial statements, and the preparation and agreement of final accounts ensuring that the Council’s relevant policies are fully complied with
- To record, input and maintain records relating to the progress, cost and completion of works from job inception utilising the works management system and report against Key Performance Indicator’s
- To ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation including the CDM Regulations
- To monitor the quality of Contractor workmanship with reference to job specifications and relevant quality standards and instigation appropriate remedial actions as and when required
We are looking for someone with strong project management and contract supervision experience in building maintenance or construction, ideally holding a relevant qualification (e.g. IOSH, PRINCE2, degree in construction/maintenance).
