Role - Risk Manager - Governance
Duration: 3 months initially
Location: Nottinghamshire
Hours: Full time, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: £26.98/hr; Weekly pay; gross viaUmbrella including holiday
Venn Group is working in partnership with a public sector organisation in Nottinghamshire to support their Corporate team on an interim basis. The successful post-holder will be leading a team responsible within the following areas: Corporate Governance, Risks & Challenges, Declarations, Gifts, hospitality, Board reports, board management, Risk registers, DATIX. This is an immediate requirement for those with UK right to work.
Key duties:
- Mapping and supporting the mitigation of anticipated or emerging risk and analyse trend
- Participating in the provision of training to staff where required
- Developing and managing the processes of recruitment and election of trustees, ensuring a high rate of retention and successful succession planning
- Leading governance and company secretarial functions, ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with agreed processes and legal timescales
- Advising on best practice, keeping abreast of voluntary sector development, legislative and other developments and liaising with trustees to provide regular updates and briefings, fulfilling reasonable requests for information
- Acting as first point of contact and provide advice and support to the board of trustees to fulfil their roles, including overseeing the servicing of trustee meetings
Skills required:
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to review and appropriately amend detailed documents
- Attend and contribute to supervision and appraisal process, meetings, training, and other events as required
- Review and advise over the planning of new and replacement critical equipment, including its specification and purchase
- Adherence to relevant legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act (always ensuring an appropriate level of confidentiality), Health and Safety at Work Act (always ensuring H&S of own and others), and other relevant legislation
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to patients, products, staff and services
