Senior Building Surveyor

Our client, a leading social housing association in Manchester is looking to recruit an experienced individual to join their established team. Reporting to the Head of Building Defects and Disrepair, the Senior Building Surveyor will oversee building defect assessments and manage disrepair issues within the properties. The successful candidate will lead a team of surveyors and operatives, ensuring high standards of service delivery.

The day to day duties of the Senior Building Surveyor will be to; 

• Conduct thorough building surveys to identify defects and disrepair.
• Provide expert advice on building regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Manage and mentor a team of Building Surveyors and Multi-Skilled Operatives.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective project delivery.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
• Oversee the implementation of remedial works and monitor progress.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience / qualifications;

• RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building surveying, with a focus on defect diagnosis.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using surveying software and tools.
