Senior HR Adviser
You’ll lead on both strategic and operational HR work, managing one HR Adviser and one HR Assistant. The position involves developing and implementing HR policies, advising on complex employee relations and casework, and providing proactive, solutions-focused HR support to a wide range of education and public sector clients.
This role requires a strong understanding of education pay and conditions, along with experience in employment law, policy development, Trade Union consultation, and fixed-term or contractual HR arrangements. You’ll need to be confident managing change and influencing at a senior level, while remaining personable, adaptable, and professional.
Salary: Negotiable
Contract: 12-month (maternity cover)
Location: Hybrid – includes monthly team meetings and client visits across Leicestershire and neighbouring areas (expenses reimbursed)
Onsite: Around 2 days per week at head office
Essential Criteria:
- Proven HR generalist experience within education or public sector environments
- Strong working knowledge of school/academy pay and conditions frameworks
- Expertise in employment law, casework, and TUPE
- Experience developing HR policies and leading Trade Union consultations
- Previous experience managing and developing a small HR team
- Confident, professional communicator with a pragmatic and flexible approach
