Senior HR Advisor

Venn Group are currently working alongside an Education Trust based in Hampshire to recruit Senior HR Advisor to provide comprehensive advice, support and guidance regarding employee relations issues across the Trust.
Main Duties:

Provide a proactive and comprehensive HR service across the Trust

Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolution, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, TUPE and redundancy

Apply HR and business knowledge evidencing appropriate decision-making skills

Interpret and advise on employment law ensuring legal compliance

Advise managers on terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them

Develop, train and coach line managers to build their knowledge of the HR function and their personal skills to effectively manage others in the role as line manager

Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions

Oversee staff attendance and absence monitoring, advising and supporting managers as necessary

Update and support the development of HR policies and procedures as required

Ensure HR documents and data are properly managed, up to date and fit for purpose

Oversee the performance appraisal system that drives high performance
-
Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment protocols

Support the recruitment process, including selection and interviewing of candidates

Support the administration of employee-related paperwork, such as employment contracts and letter drafting

Support change management processes

Support the HR Officer with processing visa applications for international colleagues
Essential Skills:
-
CIPD qualified or equivalent occupational experience

Proven track record as an HR generalist

Strong Employee Relations experience and knowledge, including disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals, redundancies and performance management issues

Competence in handling sensitive and confidential issues from a number of stakeholders

Competence in offering advice to employees and management on all areas of HR

Ability to explain and advise on complex HR matters to an audience unfamiliar with certain terminology, processes and policies

Exceptional organisational and communication skills together with solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application
