Senior Lawyer and Deputy Monitoring Officer – East of England – Full Time – Permanent – Hybrid Working – Up to £49,500 D.O.E
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the East of England who are recruiting for a Senior Lawyer and Deputy MonitoringOfficer to join their team.
This assignment is offered on a full-time basis however candidates possessing relevant experience who can only offer part-time hours will also be considered. The position will be worked on a partially remote basis, office presence will be required of the successful candidate.
This position is suitable for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with previous experience within Local Government.
Daily duties will include:

Acting as a legal advisor to the client organisations in governance and other corporate or constitutional and administrative matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the client organisations.

Undertaking the role of Deputy Monitoring Officer and legal advisor for Committee meetings, informal meetings and working parties as required.

Acting as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Committees and Directorates as directed to cover the absence of colleagues.

Representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post.

The role is offering a salary of up to £49,500 per annum dependent upon experience
