Senior Mental Health Practitioner
Our client, a highly reputable Support Provider in Dorset urgently requires a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join their team to provide practical and emotional support to those with moderate to severe mental health conditions. The right post holder will have a strong understanding of the challenges our clients face and they will help service users access treatment, rehabilitation services, and other support services.
Location: Dorset (Hybrid working)
Contract duration: 3 month + (Temporary – Permanent)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Hourly rate: £16.00 Via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide Key Worker support for individuals living with diagnosed mental conditions
- Manage a team of x3 Mental Health Support Workers in a Crisis Dropping Centre
- Manage and respond to untoward and significant events reported by staff and client
- Review notes that have been added onto the internal system
- Liaise with other support providers and community or emergency services
- Conduct 1-1 and group support sessions with service users, updating any risks or needs onto their support plans and communicating them with the team
- Support clients in the Community who are experiencing mental health challenges
- Deliver support led by a team of specialist support workers trained to use trauma-informed care and deliver a person-centred approach to improve the level of support that is offered
- Lead a team of Specialist Support Workers to build trusting relationships with customers; supporting them to identify/manage Risks, engage in recovery, and work towards a sustainable future
- Complete and devlier all mandatory training in Trauma Informed Approaches, managing mental health, substance misuse, and accommodation services
- Safeguarding customers and children and adults from harm, abuse, or neglect
Essential criteria include:
- Experience of managing a team of Health and Social care profesionals
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed or Psychological Informed Interventions/ Practices
- A current Enhanced DBS (within the last 12 months)
