Venn Group have been exclusively tasked with sourcing a Software Development Lead for a leading Financial Services firm in London.
The main purpose of the role will work within the Technology & Data Architecture team to oversee and contribute to the software development lifecycle, mentor other software developers, and institutionalise best practice for both coding and the development process.
The successful candidate is expected to bring a business resilience and risk mitigation focus to this role in the design and development of systems and workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring robust solution design and software architecture across the team
- Contributing to the design and development of web applications (ASP.NET MVC / C# stack) and APIs
- Mentoring developers, including conducting code reviews
- Applying and institutionalising coding best practices and a standardised Agile team approach to the SDLC
- Creating and reviewing technical documentation (including written information and charts)
- Contributing to the team procedures to help ensure that they are current and accurate
- Building in scalability and operational resilience through the Azure platform
- Taking ownership of configuring services for our web and workflow automation apps in Azure
- Design and development of in-house APIs
- Communicating project-relevant technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
- ~7+ years' experience working in software development or similar
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science would be desirable
- Experience working in an Agile team
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent C# and OOP skills (inc. knowledge and practice of SOLID principles)
- At least 2 years' experience working with ASP.NET MVC
- Familiarity with MS SQL
- Experience with MS Azure
- Experience with Azure Functions and App Services
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps and/or Power Automate Flows
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
- Strong interest in hands-on system delivery and a track record of delivering working software to production
- Effective listener, communicator, and translator of relevant technical concepts to business stakeholders
- Motivated and stimulated by leading, innovating and collaborating with others
- Experience in the financial sector, particularly investment management, is desirable
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory is desirable
