Software Engineer (Defence Safety Applications)

6 Month Rolling - £612 per day (Inside IR35)

Bath (Hybrid) SC Cleared

A position has arisen for an experienced Software Engineer to support a Defence engineering client via a major consultancy. You will work in a team of engineers specifying, developing and testing safety related or critical software.

Work will include:

• Writing software level requirements in natural language or in formal method notations
• Generating software architectures and software designs
• Generating code (we use Ada, SPARK, Python, C, C++ and Java for example)
• Following testing strategies and plans and generating appropriate test designs, cases, scripts and test evidence
• Contributing to writing software development, test strategies and other plans
• Supporting safety engineers in the development of evidence for software safety cases

Required:

• Knowledge of the software development V-model life-cycle
• Experience in on or more of the above software disciplines
• Experience in at least one of the following markets: aerospace, transport, defence, rail, automotive

Desirable:

• Degree qualified in software engineering or related/relevant subject
• Chartered Engineer and member of the IEEE or BCS
• Knowledge and experience in static analysis
