Strategic Programme Director

Venn Group is working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an experienced Interim Programme Lead (Start for Life and Family Hubs) to lead on the delivery of the Council’s improvement plan.

The Interim Programme Lead (Start for Life and Family Hubs) will report jointly to the Director of Commissioning and the Council’s Chief Strategy Officer, with ultimate accountability through the Programme Board.

Position: Interim Programme Lead (Start for Life and Family Hubs)

Period: 12 months initial

IR35 Status: tbc

Rate: tbc

Responsibilities in post:

• Lead the programme of change, establishing a single strategic governance/transformation board, which sets the integrated strategic direction and oversees the delivery of integrated programme delivery
• Bring together a series of new and existing programmes to create a single, overarching approach that will oversee the delivery of all these connected strands of work as part of a coherent whole
• Ensure the momentum of the already established workstreams is maintained
• Establish governance across the programme, ensuring that policies and best practices are followed

Essential skills:

• The ability to work at pace, with the delicacy to ensure that existing programmes continue to be delivered and are not destabilised or hindered as they are merged into a broader governance structure
• Strong programme management skills and a background in delivering complex programmes across a wide group of stakeholders
• Experience operating at senior management level with the ability to balance operational, strategic, and political drivers astutely and sensitively
